SPECIALIZED TOURISM

Transnico has a large experience in organizing tours on the island with programs in specific fields like cultural topics, ecology, the social or political history and reality of the country, to study the economy or agriculture of Cuba, or to learn more about the Cuban sports or entertainment sector.

We provide the necessary hotel reservations in the required star level, the transfers and specialized guide services. We can advise on the program possibilities of each item and can arrange all necessary contacts and visits with the corresponding official institutions of the country.

In joint venture with the American tour operator Global Exchange we have organized tours around topics as varied as Afro Cuban music and religion, architecture in Havana, the position of the women in Cuban society, the Cuban health care system, etc… We coordinate visits of Havana to assist at or visit the yearly Latin American Film Festival and the Bienal Arts Festival. We have programs around going back in the Cuba footprints of historic personalities as Che Guevara and Ernest Hemingway.

Perhaps one of the best descriptions of the trip comes from Joanna (23, Calf), who said that her perception of Cuba had totally changed with a social reality tour:

"I am very impressed by the different programs, particularly going to community centers, concerts and social activities. Also we had a lot of support from the guides. I think it would be better to stay with host families but I know it's difficult to arrange, and the program is very good. We also have free time to wander around the city and that was great, I met some Cubans and visited theirs houses, which was great. I like how the schedule works, it's wonderful how you can choose if we want to participate in an activity or spend time on your own, I like the flexibility and the optional structure. Something interesting is that being in Cuba for only two weeks; my perception of Cuba had totally changed, about Fidel, their culture, history and social problems".
